Aruha Atelier was born from a conviction that art on your wall should carry the weight of real human effort. Not printed. Not machine-made. Embroidered, stitch by stitch, by artisans whose hands have been trained over lifetimes.
We make hand-embroidered viscose silk tapestries — thread-painted in the aari and crewel traditions, with bold cubist, folk-modernist, and botanical motifs. Picasso-inspired faces in fractured planes of colour. Frida-esque figures wearing blooms. Abstract musical instruments dissolving into pure form. Each piece takes weeks. Each is one of a kind.
We work with embroiderers across India — artisans who have inherited these skills through family traditions spanning generations. Our role is to design, collaborate, and bring their extraordinary work to homes that will give it the wall space it deserves.
The range is narrow by choice. Depth matters more to us than breadth. We'd rather make a few things extraordinarily well than many things quickly.

Viscose silk
Every tapestry is worked on viscose silk — the thread catches light differently at every angle, giving the surface a depth no print can match.
Hand embroidery, stitch by stitch
We use aari and crewel-style techniques. No machines. Each stitch is placed by a human hand. A single tapestry can take weeks to complete.
One of a kind
Each piece is unique. Slight variations in stitch direction, thread tension, and colour are not imperfections — they are evidence of human hands at work.
